Mountain Adventures Tours - Trip Organization

The trekking trip begins its onward journey from Delhi. On the day of departure from Delhi for the trekking trip, the Tour Manager gives extensive briefing of the trip with important things attached to the tour. It's a informal introduction to the trip where the expectation from the trip are briefed out with Audio Visual presentation. Here your Trip Manager answers all the field questions.

While in the field we normally have bed tea at 6.00 am in the morning, your field staff brings you hot tea /coffee to your tents. Hot water in washing bowls are also served along with bed tea for your hygiene morning cleaning. There is given enough time to pack-up your bags before breakfast. At around 7.00 am breakfast is served, mostly consisting of fruits, porridge, muesli or cornflakes, toast, butter / marmalade, eggs as per choice and tea / coffee etc. before starting the day trek.

The days trek starts at around 8.00 am and we have few breaks in between for visiting the villages, temples and photo-opportunity stops. At around 1300 hrs. we stop for mostly hot mid day meal or enjoy the pack lunch, prepared by your staff. The accompanied kitchen staff reaches the campsite ahead of us and by the time the members come to the camp most of the cooking is done. On the days when your staff serves you hot lunch it consists of lots of carbohydrate and mineral fiber in your diet, such as rice, dal (lintels), bread and sandwich, roti (rolled Indian bread), peanut butter, cheese, tuna fish, potato salad etc.

You rest for a while under the shade of a tree and later cover up the day's trek, which remains for few hours. After reaching the campsite the kitchen staff again serves you with a refreshing lemon tea, biscuits, cheese or Indian made afternoon snacks. There is plenty of time to appreciate the local landscape and probably to visit the nearby shrine, village or even locals' home to see how they live? All these are organized through your local Trip Manager who have spent considerable long time travelling in these regions of trekking tour.

Dinner is served before it gets dark and the time to enjoy relaxed camp fires or listen to local stories or narration's by locals about their customs and traditions. Dinner consists of lightly cooked nourishing local vegetables, some Indian bread, rice and nourishing hot soup of your choice, with dessert along with tea / coffee. In some of the camping nights the Trip Manager even requests the locals to put up a small traditional dance performance and time passes appreciating these memorable sights and sounds.

Every night after dinner the Trip Manager also sees that the members fill-up their water bottles with purified drinking water, which has been boiled for good 20 minutes and purified with iodine crystals for extra safety of the member's health. All cooking in field is done after carefully boiling the water and with through washing of raw vegetables in it etc.

Accommodation

During adventure tours camping nights, we use Scottish made two men tents with wide open front zip and tough ground sheet attached to individual tents and covered from all sides. There is a roomy dining tent and a separate kitchen tent for field staff to use during cooking. The pit toilet tent is pitched slightly away from the main camping area and away from the water point. The use of comfortable stools and tables during serving meals are all quite appreciative of standards laid down by us for maximum comfort to members during the adventure trips.

Trip Leaders

Our Trip Leaders are the soul of Mountain Adventure Tours in India. They are experts-local to the area-who speak from the heart (in English and the local language!) They understand the customs, history and culture because they were raised in them. They act as the guide, interpreter, support team, motivator and merry maker for the group-quite a feat.
