Accommodation used during adventure tours in India

We chose accommodation on the basis of value for money, rather then economy. It will generally be on a twin share basis with private facilities.

ACCOMMODATION USED IN GATEWAY ENTRY CITIES / TOWNS

++ Mostly heritage palaces converted in hotels or First Class Hotels

ACCOMMODATION USED WHILE CAMPING

++ Rectangular shaped tent with square base. These have one center pole and front central flap entrance. (Used mostly during Camel / Horse Safari and during Sailing Trips)

++ Triangular shaped Low Altitude tents. These have two A shaped pole supported by a roof middle pole and front central flap entrance. (used mostly during Trekking / Elephant Safari Trips )

++ Domed shaped tents, with front half dome flap entrance. (Used mostly during Motorbike / 4 x 4 Wheel drive Trips)

++ Semi - Deluxe styles Swiss tents with camp linen and are permanent fixed ones at the location. (Used mostly during location camping such as at Jaisalmer / Nagaur / Pushkar / Rafting Trips)

++ Triangular shaped High Altitude tents. These have two A shaped pole supported by a center pole and front central flap entrance. (Used during
Expeditions)

++ One or two bedroom well furnished traditional houseboats with full-furnished bathroom and a sundeck. (Used during backwater barging Trips)

++ Country made riverboats covered with long soft planks and equipped with sail masts.

During all treks we provide three man trekking tents which are pitched on twin share basis. Treks carry mess tents, toilet tents (to be pitched as far as possible) and kitchen tents on a regular basis. Mules and porters are taken depending on the area of operation and the clients need carry only their day packs with packed lunch, water, camera and wind/water proof jackets.

The dining / mess tent has tables and chairs/stools. We also provide Karrimats. The clients usually bring their own sleeping bags, water bottles and personal clothing, however it can be arranged locally on request at extra cost. Water used for cooking is boiled and treated with Iodine to make it extra safe before it is provided to the clients for consumption through the day. Carrying bottled water is a possibility on short/easy treks however in most cases it still remains quite impractical due to problems arising out of packaging etc.

All trekking and adventure trips are accompanied by our seasoned guides who, between them have done all the routes/rivers in the areas indicated. There is always a local guide to liase between the local villagers and our own trekking staff, all of whom are highly experienced, travel on all our trips. All regular tours (cultural, festival and special interest tours) are arranged with English speaking local guides, though if required we can also arrange excellent escorts, who are well acquainted with Indian Culture, History, tradition, religion etc. to accompany the group throughout their stay in India.
